Fantasmagorix
 

Fantasmagorix©  technology refers to the combination of different computer programs used to create animation films. The technology is based on a unique concept of “real time” which dramatically decreases the rendering time per image and allows modifications to be made easily and quickly to deliver better quality.

The Fantasmagorix technology mixes existing programs such as Maya or MotionBuilder and other programs developed and/or owned by DELACAVE.

The Movie Asses Manager (MAM) is the central piece of fantasmagorix.

Fantasmagorix is a hardware system which combines the use of algorithm calculus and the engineering of the video games. This “real time” technology reduced dramatically the rendering time. RenderBox allows checking images simultaneously during the creation process; therefore modifications can be made easily and quickly for a better quality. A scene rendered in several hours under the classical technique will be rendered in about 15 seconds with the Fantasmagorix technology.

 

Fantasmagorix is one of the very rare video games hardware system that can be integrated to the pipeline production of CGI animated film. Technical specifics of the Fantasmagorix system are:

  • Animation of images simultaneously with visualization of images
  • HD/2K/4K images in few secondes instead of hours
  • Shadowing of images in « real time »  

 

FG-Stereo : 3D stereoscopic real time system

  •  The great difficulty of making a film in 3D animation lies in the choice of two parameters that are gauge virtual cameras and the convergence of two opticals.
  • This tool allows you to calibrate these two parameters in real time and see the result immediately. The control of the "burst" or the importance of the effect of "relief" is therefore perfectly controlled.

 

FG-Fur : Hair "hardware" Animation System

  •  Fabrication of hair or fur is difficult and costly. Numerous algorithms are necessary and therefore it is not possible to get simultaneous results. However info graphic technicians need to check their work constantly in order to get to a satisfactory level. Most of the studio will have to do the time and money consuming “back and fourth”.
  • FG-Fur resolved these issues by combining the Maya model program with RenderBox. Therefore our technicians are able to fabricate hair and fur and visualize the end result simultaneously.
